I have had trouble with my teeth from as early as I can remember. I used to dread going to the dentist and finding out what needed to be done. Earlier this year I was told that I would need braces to correct some damage that was done by my wisdom teeth. This was horrible, braces are all I needed. It turned out great though, because my dentist told me about invisalign braces. I had never heard of Invisalign before, so I asked my dentist to provide me with some documentation. He gave me a pamphlet to take home and read through, and I was both surprised and delighted by what I found. It seemed I had finally found a dental procedure I would not mind undergoing.
These braces are a definite improvement over the clunky, metal braces of yore. They are made of plastic, and custom fitted to fit perfectly to your teeth, while still being comfortable. They use gentle pressure to correct any problems with your teeth, which in my case is a slight pushing forward caused by wisdom teeth. I love how I can hardly tell whether they are there or not. Metal braces tend to get things stuck in them, believe me I would know, but with invisalign this is a problem of the past. They are very comfortable, and I didn’t have to go through the hassle of getting the wires adjusted, which tends to be a painful and uncomfortable process.
I work in a job where I interact with customers all day, and my main fear when I heard I needed braces was how they were going to affect my business. The first impression is very important when trying to build a relationship with a customer, and I was afraid that the braces would be off putting. Nothing would be worse than a customer looking at my braces and thinking that I was immature and inexperienced because of them. This is the area where Invisalign has helped me the most. The only way someone would know I have braces is if I were to tell them. This means that my braces do not have negative impact on my impression with customers, and I can go about my work as I always have.
Of course these braces are not only perfect for a professional. I can see how they would be great for people from all walks of life, from the student afraid of being made fun of on the playground to the teenager wanting to impress his first date. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these wonderful braces for a second, they have improved the quality of my life immeasurably, and continue to do so.
